02/25/2021. PLOS Pathogens is a peer reviewed scientific journal with a rigorous editorial screening and assessment process made up of several stages. Reflecting the full breadth of research on bacteria, fungi, parasites, prions and viruses, PLOS Pathogens publishes outstanding original research and commentary that significantly advance the understanding of pathogens and how they interact with their host organisms. In 2017, PLOS Pathogens received the help of 226 Editorial Board members and 261 guest editors to curate 2,360 submissions. Along with the participation of 2,479 reviewers, we were able to publish 552 articles with meaningful and impactful results. Editorial Board. Over 140 members of the genetics community serve on the Editorial Board of PLOS Genetics, making decisions about whether submitted manuscripts meet the journal’s publication criteria.
